“Impresa Etnica” (Ethnic enterprise)

“Impresa etnica” is an important experience of integration and fight against social exclusion regarding foreign citizens through social promotion and associationism, profit and non-profit companies and self-employment. It’s powered by Arci Catania and Ghezà association.
The project, which is also guaranteed by UNAR ( Ufficio Nazionale Antidescriminazioni Razziali – National Anti-racial discrimination Office) focuses on giving importance to the presence of migrants in Catania through getting awareness and developing not only their  own skills but also the collective ones, belonging to different communities which are located within our space, taking also into consideration a civil and economic growth perspective of the whole citizenship.

“Impresa Etnica” is dedicated to migrants who want to build up a company and/or an association!
Throughout this journey, which is an useful instrument to share seminars, workshops and simulations, migrants (men and women), will be able to make up ideas and projects that could be associative or business-wise, which accessibility is certified by our experts who are able also to lead the participants along this journey.

Moreover, the project will be articulated in the following contexts:

• first, there are seminars and workshops based on company and gender differences;  team building and creative organization;  workshops, social theater and labor-law rights  powered by ‘Associazione Perfomazioni, ConCooperative’.  This training aims to transmit some necessary skills useful to create and run a company, getting to know how to organize the general business elements (50 hours); at the same time the participants will benefit this specific training as well about the topic of associasionism powered by Arci Catania which also contributes to focus on the growth of the multicultural aspect of Catania;

• at the end of this training will be an information desk about ‘Impresa etnica’ by Ghezà association whose operators are a man and a woman, both migrants. They will also lead the participants to achieve their own projects (business or associative), provide information necessary to those who would like to accomplish initiatives of aggregation and self employment in order to emphasize the regulation and occurrence within the informal occupation and, generally, offering an orientation for  social entrepreneurship  even for migrants who have already run a company and also belong to association, but wish to develop these skills even more.
  

This opportunity is a process which involves the whole civil society,  taking into consideration even  topics like discrimination and a free access to our rights; ‘Impresa Etnica’  represents a valid instrument useful for the ones who take benefits from this, while creating a space open for dialogue in order to exchange ideas, and sharing different cultures.

“Impresa Etnica” project provides a place for agregation and elaboration of new ideas of social promotion, empowering also the creation and the birth of new migrant’s associations, companies and new relationships.
All the migrants are welcome to take part to our workshops.
